After completing all the assessments in the course, students are required to sit a supervised, two hour, written examination containing various types of questions, based on the coursework, including short answer, fill-in the word, multiple choice and expanding medical abbreviations. The pass mark for the course is 80%. The average of the assessment marks contributes 20% and the final examination contributes 80% towards the calculation of the final course mark.

      average mark of assessments          90% x .2 = 18.0%
    + final examination result                     80% x .8 = 64.0%

final course mark is 82% (pass)

Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with the HIMAA Certificate of Achievement which is recognised nationally within the Health Information Management profession.
