Transition to ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS 11th Edition
Overview
The HIMAA Transition to ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS 11th Edition course has been designed for students who have prior coding knowledge and experience in clinical coding outside Australia but may not be familiar with ICD-10-AM, ACHI and the Australian Coding Standards.
This course will guide you through the uses of ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS in the Australian health care setting.
After successfully completing this course you will have the skills and concepts to code from medical records generated by an episode of care such as day surgery, planned surgery or simple medical problems.
You should see this course as the first step in training to work as a clinical coder in Australia and also as a way to build upon your current coding and abstraction skills. Practical experience and continuing education will be necessary to further develop your skills as a clinical coder.
Entry Requirement
To ensure that those applying for enrolment have the required level of knowledge and experience, Education Services will only accept enrolment from those who have completed formal training in clinical coding and have substantial current clinical coding experience.
