  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management, or completion of a recognised ICD-10-AM clinical coding course;
  • Clinical Coders must have a minimum of 3 years recent continuous clinical coding experience using ICD-10-AM / ACHI / ACS in an Australian Inpatient facility;
  • In addition to the above, Auditors must have undertaken a recognised Audit training course;
  • Health Information Managers interested in consultancy work must have at least 5 years experience in an Australian healthcare facility, with high level leadership, communication & interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and analytical skills with the ability to extract, interpret and present clinically coded data;
  • Demonstrated experience with computerised clinical information / PAS / EMR systems and electronic coding products, including 3M Codefinder;
  • Professional presentation and extremely reliable;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Thorough understanding of casemix and DRGs, in an ABF work environment.

Clinical Coding and Auditing applicants meeting the essential criteria above are required to complete a coding test to assess suitability. Applicants are also required to successfully undertake a National Criminal History Check if they have not already done so within the last 12 months & NSW Ministry of Health Level B staff vaccination requirements.
