Responsibilities / Duties: 

The Position

St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Coding Coordinator to join the dynamic team.

You will be responsible for the Coordination of Clinical coding service to ensure the service efficient and effective service provision. You will also be required to conduct education, training and quality activities to ensure the Hospital’s Health Information Management Service meets national and state industry standards.

This position is being offered on a permanent full time basis working 76 hours a fortnight Monday to Friday.

For further consideration applicants must have a minimum of 4 years Clinical Coding experience, and a minimum of 2 years Management experience.


The successful candidate will have:

  • Ability to work within and contribute to the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Completion of a nationally recognized Clinical coding course
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of clinical coding using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM), in a hospital environment
  • Completion of the Advanced Coding Course or Accredited Coding Course or Coding Auditors Course
  • Strong supervisory skills including an ability to coach and develop a team
  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of casemix Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
