A high level opportunity exists for an exceptional Health Information Manager to join the company and work with the State and National Health Information Management team and the NSW & ACT State General Manager. With the opening of the new Northern Beaches Hospital in just over a year there will be a significant focus on and participation in the overall strategic plan for Northern Beaches HIS functions.

As the State Auditor and Educator your responsibilities will include:

  • Clinical Coding activities, including auditing and education
  • Clinical Documentation Improvement initiatives
  • Staff mentorship and training
  • Provision of Casemix Data and Casemix Management Education
  • Ensuring the ongoing integrity of PAS data and completeness of the medical record
  • Assisting the Corporate Health Information Management Unit and strategic direction as required

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent)
  • Up to date extensive knowledge with at least 5 years Clinical Coding knowledge and experience using ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to adapt to an evolving work environment, working as part of a team or autonomously
  • Ability to achieve deadlines with exceptional organisational skills and an attention to detail
  • Demonstrated understanding or experience with Private Sector Funding Models
  • Demonstrated understanding or experience with Private Sector Reporting Models

Desirable Criteria:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment
  • Clinical Coding Audit qualification
  • Post graduate management studies
  • Experience with an eMR

*The role will require travel in NSW and interstate occasionally. Your own car will be required however you will be provided petrol and toll card, company credit card for expenses, laptop, phone, VPN access for working offsite, flexibility in working hours and the opportunity to be based at the new Northern Beaches site once it opens in 2018.
