  • Contract position – fixed term, part time, 15.2 hours per week, maternity leave coverage to 31/12/2018.

Responsibilities / Duties: 
  • Ensure all medical record documentation related polices and procedures are maintained, up to date and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Act as secretary to the Clinical Documentation Committee.
  • In collaboration with clinicians design and refine medical record documentation in accordance with current policy, both in electronic and hard copy formats.
  • Manage medical record document stock through liaison with users, Austin Health supply department and external printing companies.
  • Maintain the Austin Health medical record document repository and register.
  • Ensure delivery of new and revised medical record documents within designated timelines.
  • Support the audit of medical record documentation quality through sound design and associated reporting mechanisms.
  • Assist with enhancements to and upgrades of the scanned medical record system.


Essential:

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management qualification.
  • A sound understanding of information technology including clinical systems and applications relevant to the management and development of medical record documentation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of best practice information management processes.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of relevant information management legislation, standards and guidelines.
  • Sound communication skills which support the maintenance of positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills which support the meeting of relevant key performance indicators.


Desirable: 
  • Experience in form design and form design applications.
  • Experience in Health Informatics.
