WW6142 - Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder - (Full-time) - Eastern Health - Eastern Suburbs, VIC

Eastern Health is seeking a qualified Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder to join our experienced coding team. Full Time, Ongoing, 80 hours per fortnight (with ADO). Part-time will be considered. New HIM Graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

Successful applicants will have a sound knowledge of clinical coding using ICD-10-AM and the Australian Coding Standards. Prior coding experience is desirable. As a member of the coding team at Eastern Health you will be supported by a comprehensive training program with continuous education at both the local and network level. The position will primarily involve coding and quality activities such as auditing and clinical reviews.

The successful applicant will take pride in the generation of quality coded data, have a methodical approach and demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail. They will possess highly developed organisational and communication skills, a positive can do approach to tasks and can work autonomously.


To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent tertiary qualification) or Clinical Coding qualification
  • Eligible for full membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia
  • Current knowledge of ICD-10-AM Tenth Edition
  • Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and procedural terminology
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and develop
  • Demonstrated time management capabilities and ability to work to a deadline
