We are a social enterprise organisation providing quality sexual and reproductive healthcare services to Australian women and men across our network of accredited health clinics within Australia.

The Health Information Manager will support the Health Information Project Manager, in meeting strategic goals and objectives in an operational setting throughout the Marie Stopes Australia Clinic Network, provide advice on information systems, data quality, coding accuracy and release of information as required.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Undertake coding audits to optimise coding accuracy report on audit outcomes and make recommendations and advise on corrective action/education.
  • Provide expert advice on admissions/discharge data capture relating to private hospital requirements across the Maries Stopes Australia Clinic Network
  • Manage statutory datasets, ensuring error management and education are completed as required and error free data is submitted to health Insurers, State and Commonwealth Departments within stated time frames.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of education and documentation across Mare Stope Australia Clinic Network to improve the overall quality of clinical documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and the ability to interpret and apply Commonwealth and State legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines and standards relating to health information management.

Skills and Experiences:

  • A tertiary qualification in Health Information Management or similar
  • A minimum 3 years clinical coding, experience
  • Knowledge of admission/discharge data capture and how it relates to State Health and Commonwealth requirements.
  • Knowledge of data submissions and correction of error reports from external agencies e.g. HCP, PHDB, and state health departments.
  • Experience in Hospital Patient Administration Systems or similar.
