Werribee Mercy Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Coder with a passion for coding, and a thorough knowledge of coding standards, to join our Health Information Service team.


  • Permanent part time (0.5 EFT – 5 days per fortnight)
  • Located at Werribee Mercy Hospital, Health Information Services
  • Ensure completion of monthly ICD-10-AM coding within set deadlines.
  • To participate and report on quality coding and casemix reviews and audits.
  • Participate in quality management studies aimed at improving HIS service, systems and procedures towards better internal and external HIS customer service.
  • Help to identify potential records to be audited.


  • Clinical Coder Certification (or recognised equivalent)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10-AM coding and casemix
  • Proven organisational and time management skills
  • At least 2 years’ experience in clinical coding desirable but not essential.


Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing western suburbs of Melbourne. Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital is currently undergoing significant expansion with a number of exciting capital projects currently underway, including an $85 million State Government funded redevelopment that will deliver a new critical care unit and take the total number of beds to 298.
