A fantastic opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Clinical Coder or Health Information Manager to join our friendly team at Healthe Care as a casual coder for Brunswick Private, Epping Private and the Hobson’s group

Brunswick Private Hospital has been transformed into a 128-bedded state of the art rehabilitation and general medical facility with extensive outpatient and community based services. Conveniently located in Melbourne’s inner-city suburb of Brunswick, we provide specialist care for patients with medical and rehabilitation needs.

Epping Private Hospital, is a 40-bedded facility with future expansion plans, is set to be a key addition to the region’s health precinct, delivery integrated healthcare services to the northern and surrounding suburbs of Melbourne.

Hobson Healthcare, is a 3-site specialist service specialising in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal disorders and surgical procedures for patients in the south-western suburbs of Melbourne.

The casual position, whilst covering multiple sites, will be located at Brunswick Private Hospital in the heart of Melbourne. This idyllic location is close to public transport networks and Nicholson/Lygon Street and Sydney Road. We offer competitive wage rates, flexible working hours, and free car parking.


Essential: 
  • Successful completion of recognised Australian Clinical Coding course (HIMAA or equivalent) or Australian degree in Health Information Management
  • A minimum of 2 years current coding experience
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Accepting/ welcoming of quality feedback
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team


Desirable: 
  • Understanding of private sector funding models
  • Experience using WebPAS
  • Experience in coding audits, both conducting internal or external, and responding to external auditor feedback
  • Experience in engaging clinical staff to refine documentation
