St John of God Bendigo Hospital is an acute surgical / medical, 122 bed Private Hospital situated in Bendigo serving the Central Victorian Region.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced and motivated Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder to join the Coding Service on a casual basis covering annual leave, sick leave, and roster gaps.

Contributing to the quality of patient care, you will assign diagnosis and procedure codes from patient health records using the appropriate ICD coding system and standards, while maintaining an effective and efficient Health Information Service.

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Qualification in Health Information Management, Clinical Coding or equivalent.
  • Experience using ICD-10-AM.
  • Minimum 3 years recent clinical coding experience.
  • High level of coding accuracy and ability to code to a high standard.
  • Self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Accurate and efficient computer and data-entry skills.
