An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and enthusiastic HIM to join our dedicated team in a developing hospital.

Northpark Private Hospital is currently one of the largest private hospitals in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, with 137 beds and 5 theatres with a range of surgical and medical services including a dedicated mental health unit and a full service maternity unit including mother and baby services.

Healthscope is the second largest provider of private health care in Australia with hospitals in all states and territories. The company owns and manages a diverse range of facilities including large high acuity metropolitan hospitals, regional and suburban hospitals.

This role will be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of ICD-10-AM coding for all patient discharges, participation in casemix management and the ongoing improvement of clinical documentation in the hospital, completion of Quality Improvement activities, data reporting and representing HIS on various committees, ensuring all department KPIs are achieved.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management (HIM), Completion of a HIMAA approved clinical coding course or equivalent with at least 2 years’ experience
  • A demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills



Preferred Criteria

  • Knowledge of private sector funding models
  • Knowledge of the WebPAS Patient Information System
