About the role

The Clinical Coder is responsible for reviewing and interpreting health care records in paper and electronic formats to accurately assign complex codes to inpatient episodes of care based on available documentation and in accordance with coding standards, and local guidelines.

Essential Criteria:

  • ICD10-AM Clinical Classification recognised coding qualification
  • Medical Terminology skills and demonstrated attention to detai
  • An aptitude for learning and success in studies
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Demonstrated experience in using computerised systems
  • Able to work independently and to also function well in a team environment to complete work
  • Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality in all work matters
