Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder - Part-time (21-24hrs p/wk, Tuesday to Friday) Health Information Services - Angliss Hospital

We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder to join our friendly and supportive coding team at Eastern Health.  This role will be based at Angliss Hospital and offered as permanent part-time 21-24hrs per week. Workdays exclude Monday.

Responsibilities / Duties: 
  • Coding
  • Generation of documentation queries
  • Cancer Registry reporting
  • Application of ratified coding advice
  • Application of Victorian Admitted Episode Dataset: Criteria for Reporting
Essential: 
  • Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent tertiary qualification) or Clinical Coding qualification (advanced).
  • Eligible for full membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia.
  • Current knowledge of ICD-10-AM Tenth Edition.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and procedural terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and develop.
  • Demonstrated time management capabilities and ability to work to a deadline.
Desirable: 
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in coding and casemix data collection
  • Experience in Health Information Services or professional/administrative roles in other areas of a health service
  • Experience in using a scanned medical record • Experience in using an electronic medical record
