An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Health Information Manager/ Clinical Coder to join the Health Information team at Latrobe Regional Hospital on an Full Time Ongoing basis. Depending on qualification and experience of applicant, Permanent Part-Time hours will be considered as well.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

Reporting to the Manager of Health Information Unit, the successful applicant will play an important role in delivering accurate, comprehensive and timely clinical coding. As the Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder you will also code and audit inpatient episodes to an agreed quantity and quality in accordance with internal and external deadlines. You will support and participate in process improvement and educational activities conducted within the organisation.


To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Qualification in Health Information Management/ Clinical Coding
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical coding systems and Australian Coding Standards
  • Experience in clinical coding using ICD 10 AM 10th Edition and 3M Codefinder
  • Commitment to working in a team environment; and
  • Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Experience working with in-house patient management software program e.g. iPM
