About the role



Calvary have a rewarding opportunity for a highly experienced Clinical Coder, with an interest in interstate travel, to provide a high quality and timely coding service across a range of facilities. The role with also include the requirement to assist with the education of coders and conducting of audits. 



This National role requires travel between our 11 private hospital facilities to provide clinical coding expertise across NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS & SA, allowing the base location of the role to be flexible.

What you bring

  • Appropriate qualification(s) in Health Information Management or Completion of approved HIMAA course in ICD-10-AM clinical coding
  • Minimum five years coding experience with high level coding abilities across a range of clinical specialties and sound knowledge of the Australian Coding Standards
  • Willing to travel and work interstate for periods of time across all Calvary Private Hospitals sites (NSW, ACT, SA, VIC, TAS)
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications as well as previous experience coding with 3M Codefinder software
  • Understanding of the private sector and billing requirements
  • Knowledge of DRG’s and casemix funding
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
