An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated HIM/Clinical Coder to join the Health Information Management Unit at Northern Health. The successful applicant(s) will work as part of a team of 23 coding staff and primarily be based at The Northern Hospital.

The role includes, ICD-10-AM coding from the Clinical Patient Folder (scanned medical record) using the 3M Codefinder, auditing and other quality related activities.

We offer flexible working arrangements with the opportunity of remote coding available to suitable applicants.



Responsibilities / Duties: 
Essential: 
  • Eligible for full membership with HIMAA,
  • Successful completion of a recognised coding course,
  • Effective communication and management skills,
  • Ability to achieve targets and deadlines,
  • Knowledge of current casemix funding models,
  • Thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology.



Desirable: 
  • Coding experience of at least 2 years using ICD -10-AM
  • Experience using 3M Codefinder,
  • Experience using a scanned medical record.
