About the Role

  • Clinical coding – abstract and verify relevant information in the  clinical record; assign accurate ICD-10-AM codes and perform Diagnosis Related Grouping according to the Australian Coding Standards, State Coding Authority and legislative guidelines within designated timeframes
  • Maintain current knowledge of coding practices and standards, state and  federal regulations pertaining to clinical classification, activity based funding and related computer applications
  • As part of the coding process, complete Queensland Cancer Registry  notifications and collect/flag clinical indicator and audit data
  • Utilise the 3M Web Codefinder software, relevant patient information  systems and related pathology and associated databases to assist in verification and allocation of codes
  • Actively participate in the coding audit process
