The Position

If you are an experienced Heath Information Manager/Clinical Coder with a desire to expand the breadth of your professional knowledge across different facets of a large health care provider, then this opportunity will open that door.

Located in our Melbourne office, positions will be offered on either a permanent full time or part time basis, with contracted hours negotiated with the successful candidates. There may be an occasional requirement to travel to our hospitals.

Responsibilities / Duties: 
    The successful candidate will have:
  • Ability to work within and contribute to the Mission and Values of St
    John of God Health Care.
  • Qualification in Health Information Management, Clinical Coding or
  • Experience in using ICD-10-AM (9th edition).
  • Minimum 3 years recent clinical coding experience.
  • High level of coding accuracy an ability to code to a high standard.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to achieve deadlines, and prioritise and multitask to achieve
    desired results.
  • Strong commitment to quality.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Accurate and efficient keyboard, computer and data entry skills.
