WW6634 - Manager, Health Information Services – Central Adelaide Local Health Network - Full-Time - Adelaide - SA

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Health Information Services Manager to lead a team of approximately 80 people into a new phase which will see the implementation of an EMR and medical record scanning solution.

CALHN comprises the new Royal Adelaide Hospital as a major tertiary facility, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a general hospital, along with Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and St Margaret's Rehabilitation Hospital. As a network, CALHN sees approximately 130,000 separations a year and is responsible for delivering some of the most complex activity in South Australia and the Northern Territory. CALHN is currently 100 days into a well-publicised three-year recovery plan. One of the core pillars of the recovery plan is to invest in clinical coding to ensure accurate and timely data is provided to medical and nursing staff. Over the first 100 days of the recovery, the team has managed to clear the clinical coding backlog and commence various quality improvement initiatives.

As the Health Information Services Manager, you will continue to work closely with both the executive and recovery teams to build on the recent successes of the team. This is a rare career opportunity to lead the transformation of CALHN Medical Records from a paper-based environment to a fully electronic medical records environment. You will be working predominantly at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital which was opened in 2017 and is the flagship hospital in South Australia. The RAH is located in the heart of the City of Adelaide, a vibrant metropolis full of culture and entertainment.

You will hold a Masters of Health Information Management or equivalent, and be eligible for full membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA). This will be supported by proven experience at a senior level, demonstrating your ability to analyse and manage complex issues and consultation processes and lead, empower, influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve required objectives within a Health Information Services context.

The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part-time. Applicants are encouraged to discuss the flexible working arrangements for this role.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.
