WW6674 - Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder - Full / Part-Time - Knox Private Hospital, Wantirna, Vic

A rare opportunity exists to join the dynamic HIS team at Knox Private Hospital.
We are a seeking an experienced and motivated Health Information Manager or Clinical Coder to join our team of 9 other HIMS and Clinical Coders. You will be well supported by other experienced team members in this friendly and welcoming department.
This position is permanent full-time but part time hours will be considered (minimum three days per week). We understand the challenges with work life balance and are supportive of family friendly hours.
You will be exposed to a diverse and complex casemix across a range of medical and surgical specialties.
• On-site undercover parking available at $4 per day.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

Primary function is coding from our paper-based medical record. Other opportunities and responsibilities will be available to the successful applicant.
• Permanent full time (part time considered)
• On-site coding educator / auditor to provide ongoing training and support.
• Supported by senior HIMs/coders within HIS and at a Healthscope corporate level.
• Participation in internal coding audits as directed
• Work with multidisciplinary clinical staff ensuring appropriate documentation for DRG accuracy.
• Attendance at scheduled Healthscope education days and coding meetings.

Essential: 

- Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent) OR successful completion of a recognised Clinical Coding course.
- Minimum 2 years experience coding.
- Strong and refined interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable: 

- PICQ8 experience
- Previous Private hospital coding experience.
- Codefinder and Turbocoder experience.
- Experience with WebPas.
