Ballarat Health Services provides a complex range of surgical, medical, obstetric, psychiatric, palliative care, rehabilitation and residential services. Ballarat is located approximately 75 minutes’ drive west of Melbourne and offers a wide range of recreational, sporting and social facilities for a population of over 90,000 people. A vibrant, progressive regional city, Ballarat is large enough to retain its own regional flavour but is within easy commuting distance to Melbourne. The position key purpose is to develop electronic clinical record forms within BOSSnet DMR. The role also encompasses the management of the VEMD mandatory data collection and clinical coding.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

Key accountabilities are outlined below;

BOSSnet DMR electronic forms

Design, build, modify electronic clinical forms within BOSSnet

  • Liaison with clinicians, Governance Committees and other stakeholders regarding form content and design
  • Ensure all new and revised eforms comply with internal and external standards and guidelines
  • Provide initial training to form owner/clinical team to facilitate correct usage of eform
  • Liaise with BOSSnet vendor in relation to resolution of issues/bug fixes of form design issues.
  • Participate in upgrade testing and for release of new BOSSnet functionality
  • Maintain current and accurate Clinical Forms Registry and Forms OneNote (worklist and process manual)
  • VEMD

  • Manage VEMD data cycle collection end to end; ensuring internal and external reporting timelines are met.
  • Implement and maintain quality control and reconciliation measures to ensure data integrity
  • Liaise with staff involved in front end data collection and ED NUM to ensure understanding of data and data integrity requirements
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to test future upgrades of webPAS VEMD related templates
  • Clinical Coding

  • Code inpatient episodes in accordance with Australian Coding Standards
  • Meet expected standards of coding accuracy and volume including coding quota
  • Essential: 
  • Qualified and experienced Health Information Manager
  • Interest in and aptitude for Digital Health (Electronic Medical Record)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
