Location: Finance - Statewide

Salary: $107,985 to $113,708 per annum

Period of Employment: Permanent, full time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight Statewide – various base sites available

*Please note intrastate travel will be required

Responsibilities / Duties: 

The Role:

  • Oversee the Clinical Coding Department within the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) to ensure work objectives are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard.
  • Provide specialist advice as required to Management, clinical and non-clinical staff in the areas of Clinical Classification, Australian Refined - Diagnosis Related Group (AR-DRG) assignment and patient information.
  • Undertake ongoing strategic review of the operating environment to enable effective management and continuous improvement of clinical coding operations, supporting the optimisation of accurate revenue through AR-DRG assignment.
  • Responsible for overall human, financial and physical resource management and strategic direction for the Clinical Coding
    department within the THS.
