WW6736 - Clinical Coder - Part-Time - Kyneton District Health, Kyneton, VIC

Kyneton District Health require a qualified Clinical Coder or Health Information Manager for a minimum of 8 hours per week for a period of six months, commencing 1 December 2019. There may be the opportunity for increased hours in the event of increased hospital activity.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

Primary responsibilities of the position are clinical coding of medical records to a high standard using the current edition of ICD-10-CM, participation in coding audits and coding queries to clinicians.

Essential: 

Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent, or completion of an approved Clinical Coding course.
Current clinical coding experience in a hospital setting.
Understanding of current Australian Coding Standards.
Demonstrate effective communication skills.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable: 

At least 2 years’ experience as a Coder with exposure to a wide range of Casemix.
Familiarity with iPM
Familiarity with 3M Codefinder
Experience with BOSSnet Scanned Health Record
Knowledge of activity based funding models.
