WW6745 - HIM Lead - Genetic Health Queensland - Full-Time - Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, Herston QLD

The Health Information Manager Lead is responsible for coordination and conduct of all Health Information Management related functions within Genetic Health Qld including working with outreach settings across the state where clinical services are delivered.
These functions include clinical liaison activities with the aim to improve clinical systems, data, information and documentation, provision of relevant reports and education to clinicians, education to clinicians on how to best collect data within information systems and systems integration with broader hospital infrastructure.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

- Implement the appropriate recommendations of the ‘Report of the Health Information Management Processes and Practices – Genetic Health Queensland (January 2019)’ as agreed by the business.
- Undertake best practice, proactive approach to managing digital and paper clinical documentation, functions and processes, inclusive of clinical and administrative staff.
- Conduct continuous review of clinical documentation practices across electronic and paper and develop strategies to address deficits, including facilitating ieMR uptake and change.
- Proactively manage clinical system databases used to support clinical care within Genetic Health Qld and specific to family-based care and family records management
- Assure information systems security and access protocols;
- Actively participate in the project management and implementation of various systems within the clinical stream and assist in the development and coordination of change management processes required for eHealth systems implementations.
- Initiate and maintain relationships with and between key stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of clinical system related change within the business and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
- Collaborate with the MN Health Information Services team to provide data management and reporting services relating to clinical audit and research within the clinical stream.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tools, materials and procedures aimed to improve clinical information for research and reporting purposes.
- Advise on systems development as it pertains to unique person identification, information architecture and reporting and analytics;
- Participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives.
- Manage own continuous learning in knowledge of eHealth, information governance and analytics including new developments, legislation and industry standards.
