You are a motivated and enthusiastic experienced Health Information Manager with demonstrated strong leadership capability.

Improvement and always looking to go beyond underpins how we work at SVHM. We refer to this approach as our “improvement movement” which is aimed at radically transforming care delivery. Health Information Systems have commenced their own improvement journey, this is in the early stages and presents an amazing opportunity for an experienced HIS manager to take forward.

As SVHM has committed to transition to a fully integrated electronic medical record in the near future, this role will assume responsibility for planning the integration of health information requirements, as well as HIS reconfiguration post implementation.

Responsibilities / Duties: 

• Efficient and effective Management of systems and processes to optimise the quality, use, security and availability of health information
• Strategic development and management of the workforce
• Establishment, implementation and maintenance of procedures that meet all DHHS and NCCH Australian Coding standards, and satisfy coding completion
• Integration of continuous coding education programs for coding staff and clinicians, informed by routine documentation and quality audits
• Organisational protection of confidentiality and privacy of patient related information


• Bachelor of Applied Science (HIM) or equivalent
• Eligibility for full membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Manager, HIS or equivalent
• Experience with DHHS casemix principles & performance reporting
• Understanding and commitment to the principles of Quality outcomes and Continuous Improvement
